CCfV Members are involved in a number of collaborative networks to advance vaccine research.
CAIRE (Canadian Association for Immunization Research and Evaluation) promotes collaboration and networking across the disciplines of vaccinology and knowledge translation so that Canadians have timely access to new and improved vaccines and optimal immunization programs.
DIDRA (Dalhousie Infectious Disease Research Alliance) was formed to facilitate and enhance closer collaboration between private or public sector researchers who share a common interest in host-pathogen research.
IMPACT (Immunization Monitoring Program, ACTive) is a national active surveillance network based in pediatric hospitals to monitor adverse events following immunization, vaccine failures, and selected infectious diseases in children that are, or are soon to be, vaccine-preventable. IMPACT is a program of the Canadian Paediatric Society (CPS) and the Centre for Immunization and Respiratory Infectious Diseases of the Public Health Agency of Canada.
PCIRN (Public Health Agency of Canada/Canadian Institutes of Health Research - Influenza Research Network)
A pan-Canadian vaccine research network that conducts applied public health research in preparation for and during an influenza pandemic.
PICNIC (Paediatric Investigators Collaborative Network on Infections in Canada) was formed in 1991 to "promote, facilitate and engage in collaborative research that will advance understanding of the pathogenesis, causes, natural history, diagnosis, management and most importantly, prevention, of infections that affect the fetus, newborn, infant, child and adolescent."
